NZ Film Commission

So the Government has appoint PJ to review the Commission.

Why not simply close it, get rid of it, shut it down. Kaput, done, gone.

There are other Film Organizations that have the best interest of NZ Film and Film Makers at heart.

I am strongly against Bureaucracies running Arts of any kind. Smacks of Socialism. This also goes for sporting and other such bodies where hands are out to the tax payer without the tax payer actually having a say. I would support a change to the tax code where those with the funds are encouraged and supported in creating trusts and endowments, much like in the US. There are huge amounts of private funds in NZ simply doing nothing, lets tap into these funds and create strong public involvement in the arts.

On the other hand I could be wrong but it is worthy of a dialogue.
