Going into business is an exciting step to take. However, it is important that one has a solid base to launch from. Run over three, three-hour sessions, Biz Start training will outline the necessary steps you need to take to ensure that you have that solid base.
Session 1:

- Business start-up “must haves”
- Choosing the right legal structure
- Fundamentals of business planning
- Getting your marketing right
- Managing the money
- Making decisions & taking action
Session 2:
- Conducting market research
- Who is your competition & what are they doing?
- Do you know your target market?
- Choosing a pricing strategy
- What’s your competitive advantage?
- Developing a promotional plan
Session 3:
- The financial management of your business
- The importance of good record keeping
- Your basic obligations – Tax, ACC and OSH
- How to manage your cash
- Understanding Profit & Loss
- Useful resources from the IRD
