Christmas! What a wonderful time of year. You've got your carols, you've got your Christmas trees, you've got your tinsel, you've got your family gatherings, you've got your rigid timetables, you've got your geriatric relations alone in their hospice, you've got diseased turkey on the bone, you've got lascivious elves, you've got your revengeful tree decorators, you've got your stringent religious practices, and you've got your sweatshop made Christmas crackers . . . The Christmas Monologues are a series of stories dealing with the dark and macabre of a holiday we all cherish. Have a merry Christmas because it might be your last . . .

The Christmas Monologues was penned by award-winning New Zealand playwright, Thomas Sainsbury. In the last two years Thomas has written and produced his plays LUV, Loser, The Mall, Beast, Gas and The Feminine. He is currently residing in London where he has produced productions of his plays A Simple Procedure and . . . and then you die at the Edinburgh Fringe. While in NZ he wrote and directed Cindy & Eric go to Hell, Little Blonde Hen and the recent show My London Sojourn.

The show will be directed by Katrina Chandra, a keen theatre practitioner with over 20 years of professional experience in lighting and sound design, operating, directing, producing, watching, wrangling, negotiating and representing. Hard out. Katrina has recently directed "Jan Maree: Have You Met Me", a show nominated for two 2009 Comedy Guild Awards.

The play features a range of very talented actors:
