Touch Compass is New Zealand’s leading integrated dance company, who combine dancers with and without disability in inspirational performances and training events. Recent shows include the stunning dance/theatre work, Harmonious Oddity (2008) by Catherine Chappell and Pedro Ilgenfritz, and powerful duet, Grotteschi (2008) by Touch Compass dancer, Suzanne Cowan. This fun and interactive workshop will offer children the opportunity to express their creativity through movement, explore balance, contact improvisation, and body puzzles in a supportive environment. The high tutor to child ratio will offer lots of opportunity for individual development and will culminate in the presentation of a short collaborative performance, involving workshop participants and Touch Compass dancers; parents and friends are welcome to attend! This workshop is open to children of all abilities.

“This is the first time Erin has ever danced in this way and been accepted as an equal partner.
This has never happened in any other sector of society.”   Karen Fraser Payne – parent
