The inaugural session will explore this important question with Mario Wynands (Sidhe Gaming), Jake Lee (Weta Digital) and Brent Chambers (Flux Animation Studios). The panel will address the relationships between education facilities and the Industry along with the current and future needs.

CoLabCoLab is an interdisciplinary creative technology centre. It aims to facilitate and promote creative practices, research and development, knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration. CoLab is based on a partnership between AUT University, MIC Toi Rerehiko and arts organizations, practitioners, educational institutions, commercial enterprises, technology developers, industry bodies and communities. It supports the development and public dissemination of hybrid ideas, research and creative practices through converging technologies, innovative formats, modes and networks. In so doing, it forms a community of enquiry and a physical meeting-ground for creative expression, new media industries and trans-disciplinary educators. CoLab is working to build a strong social network of partners and associated organisations.
