Spark Festival of Media, Arts & Design

Spark, now in its 12th year was initiated as a means for Media Arts students to access and share thinking with national and international practitioners at a level rarely available in Hamilton.

Spark is  a dynamic annual event that has gained momentum and space on the national arts calendar by providing a platform for the contemporary arts and creative industries.

Without fail, the festival attracts an impressive list of presenters who work at the cutting edge of their profession.

Each year Spark invites between 12 and 20  high calibre speakers from the world's creative community to give presentations on different aspects of contemporary visual arts, culture and their work within the creative industries.

Topics covered often include photography, digital imaging, film, documentary, design, painting, sculpture, writing, media, journalism, graphics, moving image, sound, music.  Presenters highlight whatever thinking  is currently underpinning artists' and practitioners' practice.

Attached to Spark Speaker Series are a range of related workshops, exhibitions, screenings & performances.
