Peerages
The highest dispensing founts of creativity in Wanganui, the Quay School of the Arts at Whanganui UCOL, and the Wanganui Glass School, have nurtured and passed their dames and knights of the fine arts regularly and perfectly for over ten years into New Zealand’s contemporary art scene.
Peerages is a group show that demonstrates the progresses through the ranks from fresh under-graduate students to legendary graduates in the very recent years. Proud of the history of their schools, the artists are confident of building on and adding to the colour and glories of their peers of the past, present and future.
Marking their own boundaries, these artists will show individual milestones, perhaps as a sample of things to come from the first years, a retrospective of works from the under-graduate majors currently in study, or a state of here and now for those recently graduated.
Sponsored by Whanganui UCOL, Optiv101 Fine Arts and Multimedia Studios, and Mickey’s.
Peerages is exhibiting at The Federal Gallery, corner Taupo Quay and Market Place, Wanganui, New Zealand. It is commenced with an opening function from 5.30pm, Monday, August 2, and exhibits from August 3 to August 13, Tuesday to Friday 10am to 2pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm.
