Come to Pablos Art Studios opening shin-dig
Pablos Art Studio and ROAR! gallery are moving to the corner of Victoria and Vivian St (189 Vivian St, opposite the Sunday vegetable market). Pablos is a unique organisation that provides valuable opportunities for the creative and personal growth of the artists who come here.
Come and celebrate with us ... You are invited to visit the new studio on August 5 and join us for our opening celebration and first exhibition Apocalypse Cow from 5.30 to 7pm. It features the work of two Pablos artists, Athina Moisa who specialises in tapestry with a difference and Thomas Davey whose 3D assemblages are inspired by the idea of remaking debris in a post-apocalyptic world.
Our own fundraising efforts ... To recoup costs we are re-doubling our efforts to raise Pablos profile and our fundraising efforts. We have launched a Help Pablos Move Forward appeal from the Pablos website www.pablosart.org.nz. Our opening celebration will provide an opportunity to interest more people in our work and encourage them to join artAngels, our art patronage and fundraising scheme.
Pablos is effective ... Pablos provides art studio facilities and tutoring for over 110 artists with experience of mental health issues a year and the ROAR! gallery provides them with an opportunity to sell their work.
Pablos works because the quality of the human interactions leads to a strong sense of belonging and ownership of the Pablos environment. This is helped by staff encouraging artists to take responsibility for every aspect of their progress.
Artists experience an increase in self esteem, confidence, courage and a sense of personal growth which they strongly related to exhibiting and selling art.
Thank you for your support in the past and I hope to see you at the opening. Please find a Press Release attached.
Best Regards
Gaelen Macdonald. Director, Pablos Art Studios Inc.
