Fundraising Art Auction - Whanganui UCOL BFA
Annual B.F.A. Fundraising
Art Auction 2010.
It is already that time of year again! We, the Whanganui UCOL Bachelor of Fine Art students, are getting organised for our annual fundraising auction.
All proceeds from the auction will be used to help fund the 3rd and 4th year end of year exhibitions.
We are therefore requesting donations of work for the auction. We would be extremely grateful for any assistance and we fully appreciate that the cost of running your art practice can make such generosity difficult. We would therefore like to offer you the option of taking a 20% commission from any funds raised by your donated work to help cover some of your costs.
As this is a fundraising event, any funds raised by your work will be tax deductible and we will provide you with a donation receipt for your records after the event.
We suggest that any donated works do not exceed $500 in value. Going by past auction results we feel that although we offer you the option to place a reserve on your work, the likelihood of bidders exceeding the $500 mark is small. As we don’t want contributors to be disappointed by low bids we hope this may in some way prevent this happening.
We will require that all donated works will be ready for collection, or that you deliver them to us by August 30th.
As in the past students will be donating their own work to complement donated work by established artists.
The donated works will be displayed for viewing at the Federal Gallery, Whanganui 10am - 4pm daily from Tuesday September 7th til Saturday September 11th. The auction will be held the evening of Saturday September 11th, doors open at 7pm.
If you are interested in helping out you can e-mail me at kimhurst@slingshot.co.nz for further details.
