ART GENERATOR Network @ Shed 5 - Rhubarb Lane

Inside Shed 5 @ Rhubard Lane

You don't need to slog away at it alone! ART GENERATOR - the first of 10 monthly networking opportunities for Creative Entrepreneurs in the Auckland Region to connect, network, share and develop a supportive working environment. Open to all people working entreprenurially with a creative focus.

Focusing on connection, building peer-to-peer support, community & collaborations the venue for this first event is the inspirational Shed 5 café/bar/venue & “motor bike chop shop”.

Canapés & drinks will be served from 6.30 pm. There will be plenty of time for introductions as well as structured and unstructured networking. Bring your issues and requests for help, your offerings, business cards and promotional material. Parking on-site (bring coins).

Host and Special Guest: Inspired Developer and Creative Entrepreneur Doug Rikard-Bell, talks to us about the Rhubarb Lane development in the newly designated Victoria Quarter, Auckland Central. Rhubarb Lane is the most significant and surprising development of inner city Auckland since redevelopment of the Viaduct Harbour in the 1990’s; but Rhubarb Lane is just so much more. We explore how this creative approach to physical development of inner city urban space encourages community, influences development planning and creates opportunity for creative thinking, enterprise and lifestyle.

Also: Anna Cameron, Director of Semi-Permanent, in a live interview following the delivery of Semi-Permanent 2010. We explore with Anna the networking and community building effects of Semi-Permanent among designer and artists. There will opportunity for questions and answers from the floor and feedback on Semi-Permanent 2010 for those of you who attended.

This is going to be a highly informative, expansive and entertaining night - we hope that you can join us!

ART Generator is funded by Arts Regional Trust and presented in partnership with The Big Idea with significant support from Auckland City Council.
