Flap & many efforts - LIVE.REPEAT.PLAYBACK.

The closing performance event for LIVE. REPEAT. PLAYBACK. 5 - 8 pm, 27 August, 2010

Flap

A performance from Diana Burgoyne (CoLab Artist in Residence) and Raewyn Turner demonstrating their collaborative work entitled 'Flap'.  Burgoyne says Flap combines her strengths in performance art and electronics with Raewyn Turners research into the as-yet unsensed human plume; they are exploring what it means to be a New Zealander or a Canadian on a very human and social level. Building on a previous collaborative work 'ReSense', Flap continues ... our sensory exploration of nationhood at a more human, social level, by considering the powerful associations we make with authentic body odour.

You can visit Diana and Raewyn working on their collaborative project in the new Interactive Suite facilitated by CoLab (WT501), and their work will later be moved into the MIC Toi Rerehiko Gallery on K'rd.

many efforts

many efforts -  post-graduate students from AUT’s Art and Design Programme respond to ?live? archives and “affects of invitation” in the closing performance evening of LIVE. REPEAT. PLAYBACK. Live experimental performance works prepare the temporal, spatial, (im)material coding of the ‘live’ archive into an ambiguous performance space for bodies.

Soliciting for participation, performers provoke the spectator to reflect on their implication and desire in the event. The ‘many’ agendas of the performers and their contingencies imply a ‘chancy’ evening of ‘live’ performance archives.
