Community Economic Development Conference

Community Economic Development Conference 2010

Exploring journeys from grant dependence to independence

The first New Zealand Community Economic Development Conference.

The three conference streams of:

Social Enterprise Development,

Alternative Finance and Investment, and

Community Economic Development;

will address the transitional moment when not-for-profit organisations begin moving from innovation to enterprise, to long term sustainability.

According to Jerr Boschee, Founder and Executive Director of the Institute of Social Entrepreneurs in USA,

“It is one thing to design, develop and carry out a new programme, quite another to sustain it financially”.

Sustainability will enable the sector to continue to be an indispensable resource promoting positive social, environmental and economic change and justice for all.
