Whanganui Summer School of the Arts 2010

Beginning on the 10th January 2010, the famous Whanganui Summer School of the Arts will kick off again, providing people from around NZ and abroad with the opportunity to participate in a week of intensive workshops, taught by leading national and international artists in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere of creative production and interaction.

 This time around the Summer School will have 18, 7 day courses on offer, covering the full range of visual and object arts including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, textile and fibre art, glass and jewellery. Also on offer are courses in Creative Writing, Culinary Arts and Fashion. There really is something for everyone, and you need not be experienced – just keen!

 Among the International artists who will be tutoring a course this year will be the widely acclaimed Printmaker Ron Pokrasso (USA), renown Mezzotint Printmaker, Stuart Duffin from Scotland, International Glass Artists Brock Craig and Jeff Burnette (both from Canada) and textile Artist Fiona Wright from India.

The Summer School provides a dynamic learning experience with tutors selected not only for their special knowledge, but also for their ability and their desire to share that expertise with others. The Summer School promises to be a stimulating environment where you will be able to totally immerse yourself in the creative process.
