The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the city’s only resident professional symphony orchestra, opens its doors to concert enthusiasts and curious first-timers in a day of wide-ranging musical interaction.

APO Open Day will feature backstage tours, Q & As, music demonstrations, masterclasses, exhibits, an on-site violin maker, and a special performance by ensembles, school orchestras and the entire Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

The day includes several family friendly features such as the music zoo, instrument making for children, and kid’s colouring areas, as well as courtyard activities.

The APO Open Day is a great opportunity to hear great music and get a closer look at how one of the largest arts organisations in the country works.
