Ode to Joy - Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra
Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 broke all boundaries when it was written by introducing singers into an orchestral work. Now it is one of the most-famous pieces of symphonic music in the world. The APO joins Auckland Choral and a hand-picked group of soloists to bring this great work to Auckland for the first time in more than five years. The programme also features Schoenberg’s deeply moving A Survivor from Warsaw, which like Beethoven’s symphony is a tribute to the human spirit. Opening of the Splendour of Vienna Series
