Making Faces: Gestalt and the Self-portrait

Gestalt is a German word meaning "whole" or "pattern". Using self-portraiture as the point of departure, learn to draw the human face using simple Gestalt principles of perception. In this course you will explore how to measure proportions, developing likeness, and learn how to use a variety of materials and techniques to capture emotions. You will be able to apply these skills to drawing the portraits of others to create beautiful and interesting images. A materials list will be provided prior to the start of the course.
