Join Clive Sowry, film historian, at 2pm in the gallery as he presents his research that ultimately debunked the myth of a lost "Western" feature film from the Far North. Clive draws on a fascinating part of New Zealand history, with photographs and original film footage against the backdrop of exhibitions by artists Faith McManus and David Sarich. Solander: works on paper is a gallery dedicated to NZ and international prints and drawings. The gallery hosts regular exhibitions and holds an extensive selection of prints encompassing contemporary etchings, screenprints, woodcuts, mezzotints as well as papercuts and drawings.
Located in upper Willis st, Solander is in the same building complex as the Mark Hutchins Gallery and a hop skip and a jump away from buzzing Cuba st. There are a variety of artists represented - both emerging and more established - in portfolios held at the gallery.
