Matariki: 'Maranga Ake' & 'United Schools Waiheke'

Matariki - we celebrate Matariki with 'a womans work is never done' -  responses from Fibre and fashion artists to 'Maranga Ake': a celebration of wahine, and their tireless dedication to manakitanga, whaunaungatanga, and to ensuring the continuity of traditions that weave themselves into place in a modern world.

Curated by Jeanine Clarkin who creates Funky Urban Street Wear, the exhibition features work by 20 different artists and will open with alive presentation as part of the openng night celebrations.

There will be an artists talk Saturday 19th June 11am.

"United Schools  Matariki' is a collection of work contributed by the pupils of Waiheke Schools. Curated by Jaq carter, these woks wil be interspersed with those making up Maranga Ake and both exhibtions wil extend over all three galleries.
