Vietnamese Printmaking - Art at Wharepuke-Kerikeri
Art at Wharepuke presents printmaking from Vietnam. The works, by tutors from the Hanoi Academy of Fine Arts, cover a wide range of subjects and techniques including etching, woodcut and monotype.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Hanoi was established under French occupation in 1925 and has trained many of Vietnam’s leading artists. In June 2009 Tania Booth and Mark Graver from Wharepuke visited the Academy and met with the artist Nguyen Nghia Phuong and from that meeting this exhibition has developed.
If you can't be there, you can see more of this exhibition on flickr
The exhibition is supported by The Asia New Zealand Foundation.
