BIZ Start - Business Start Up Training

Starting a business?  Need some guidance? 

Going into business is an exciting step to take. However, it is important that one has a solid base to launch from.  Run over three, three-hour sessions, Biz Start training will outline the necessary steps you need to take to ensure that you have that solid base. 

BIZStart is designed for people whose businesses are not yet trading.

Session 1:

  • Is business ownership for you?
  • Elements of running a successful business
  • Business start-up “must haves”
  • Choosing the right legal structure
  • Fundamentals of business planning 
  • Getting your marketing right 
  • Managing the money 
  • Making decisions & taking action

Session 2:

  • Conducting market research 
  • Who is your competition & what are they doing? 
  • Do you know your target market? 
  • Choosing a pricing strategy
  • What’s your competitive advantage? 
  • Developing a promotional plan

Session 3:

  • The financial management of your business 
  • The importance of good record keeping  
  • Your basic obligations – Tax, ACC and OSH
  • How to manage your cash  
  • Understanding Profit & Loss 
  • Useful resources from the IRD

BIZStart is scheduled in Manukau. Participants must attend all three sessions.  Sessions run from 6pm - 9pm.
