The fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 and the subsequent reunification of Germany in 1990 marked a significant period within German history. It led to an unprecedented building boom in the new German capital Berlin. Museums, government buildings, embassies, and memorials were built by well known architects such as Daniel Libeskind, Peter Eisenman, and Sir Norman Foster to name a few. We will explore some of these buildings, look at their innovative architecture and place them in historical context.
