Summer Opera at Magnificent Ayrlies Gardens

Auckland Friends of the Opera invite you to Ayrlies for an open-air concert of popular opera in this magnificent garden setting in Whitford, Auckland.

Hosted by Maggie Barry and featuring special guest artist Margaret Medlyn along with our Resident Artists and Freemasons Opera Scholars Wendy Doyle, Helen Lear, Kate Lineham, Morag McDowell, Emma Roxburgh and Emma Sloman. The diverse programme includes favourites from The Marriage of Figaro, La Bohème, Lakmé, Carmen, Peter Grimes and Faust as well as lighter repertoire from The Mikado, My Fair Lady, Carousel and many more. The gardens are just gorgeous at this time of the year and provide a beautiful backdrop for the event.

The gates will open at 11am to give you time to explore the grounds and relax over lunch before the concert begins at 2pm. The gardens will remain open after the concert until 6pm.
