Stopmotion Animation Course with Sally Tran
Sally loves the traditional and organic frame of stopmotion animation and this term is offering a basic class for those who are passionate about miniatures and animation.
Bring your personal creative style to this 6 week hands on course where you’ll collaborate on a stopmotion animation for a music video. In the first 4 weeks leading to the shoot, you will learn the techniques used for creating an animation and undertake all the practical preparation for a shoot; preparing sets and props, storyboards, shots and lighting. Following this, a full weekend workshop will involve the setting up and shooting of your collaborative animation. All participants will have the opportunity to light and shoot and be allocated scenes to capture and animate. In the last week Sally will touch on the technical and you’ll be compiling the footage together to compete the project. To celebrate with you, we’ll be holding a special screening at Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts on Wednesday 2nd June, 8.00pm.
Materials will be provided, students will need to bring workbooks and any extra material they like to use.
