YOUNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES
projectspace B431 is delighted to present a 4-day only show of new work by YOUNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES (YHCHI). Originally commissioned by Temple Gallery, Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, MY PRETTY PEACENIK has never been shown online or outside of the US. The work tells the story of a guy who lets himself get beat up in front of his peacenik girlfriend, only to lose her and, disillusioned, finds himself ruminating on what it all means.
Based in Seoul Korea, YHCHI was founded in 1998 by C.E.O. Young-hae Chang (Korea) and C.I.O. Marc Voge (U.S.A.). Their work has been translated into 16 languages and presented at major art institutions around the world, including Tate, London and the Centre Pompidou, Paris. BLACK ON WHITE, GRAY ASCENDING, their first international solo show, was part of the 2007 inaugural opening of the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York.
YOUNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES are the current Elam International Artists in Residence.
