Mandolin Magic and Whangarei Youth Music

Whangarei Youth Music Orchestra and the Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra will join to give families a Sunday afternoon of music where you will be swept into a concert you will never forget.

Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra led by Musical Director Bryan Holden, is the only mandolin orchestra in New Zealand.  They play music from around the world and from yesterday and today; classical, swing and blues, popular, traditional Italian, Russian, Greek, Austrian, Spanish, Irish, and Latin.

All the members of the mandolin family; mandolin, mandola, liuto and mandolon are supported by guitar with flute and accordion to enhance that special mandolin sound.

 Whangarei Youth Music Orchestra led by Naotake Fukuoke, will play items of their own displaying local talent as well as joining with the mandolin orchestra to present a finale of dynamic pieces to send you home with a spring in your step and a song in your heart and pride in New Zealand’s musical abilities.
