2010 Media Arts Student Showcase

Students from across Wintec’s School of Media Arts are in their final week of classes, busily completing the last assignments of the year. In the week of November 22nd – 26th, the hard work will be replaced with celebration as students show off their work to friends, family, community and industry in a series of Media Arts Student Showcase events. For details of all shows, visit http://www.mediarts.net.nz/exhibition or http://www.mediarts.net.nz/?p=1878.

Friday is a definite day to diary, with seven different exhibitions opening within walking distance of each other between 4pm and 7pm. These exhibitions feature an exciting variety of mediums, from photography to sculpture to journalism, and many will be open afterwards until December 3rd. Postgraduate students will be exhibiting work in three of the shows opening on Friday, including Emily Russell (Honours) who will be unveiling the second issue of her local arts e-magazine ‘Riff Raff’, and Antoinette Radcliffe (Master of Arts) who has been exploring gory themes in plush toy form.

All exhibitions are free, apart from the ticketed Moving Image and Fashion runway events, and members of the public are encouraged to visit and enjoy the high quality of work.
