- Otago Festival of The Arts
The Otago Festival of the Arts Trust was established in 1999 to present a biannual arts festival for Dunedin and the Greater Otago Region. There are two simple catch phrases that encapsulate the artistic vision of the festival: "celebrating the excellent and the extra-ordinary" and "a boutique festival in a boutique city".
The Festival takes place over 10 days and features more than 50 unique national and international arts and culture events and more than 100 performances and presentations. Events range in genre and discipline including theatre, dance, music, visual arts and mixed media.
Since the inaugural season in 2000 the Festival has continued to strive towards artistic excellence while building a sustainable and manageable event. 2012 will mark the seventh season of the Otago Festival of the Arts. We are very proud to have always remained fiscally solvent while continuing to offer a diverse and high-quality range of arts events that are accessible, well-attended and loyally supported by Dunedin and Otago communities.
