“Once in a Lifetime” Painting Experience - Kashmir

This “once in a lifetime” trip is being led by Tim Houghton, an artist now living in New Zealand and is being arranged through Pukekohe Travel: www.pukekohetravel.co.nz who are excited about the vision behind this event. This will be Mr. Houghton’s fourth trip to Kashmir.

The schedule will include organised painting trips to surrounding valleys, Moghul garden and plenty of time to head off by yourself to paint in “paradise on earth”. There will be workshops with both Tim Houghton and Masood Hussain, an internationally recognized Kashmiri artist and Head of the Department of Applied Arts at the Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Masood will give demonstrations and accompany the group on some outings. He has invited the group to visit the Institute of Music and Fine Arts to meet the faculty and students. Masood believes that cultural exchanges of this kind can bring peace and restoration to areas that have been affected by conflict and be a step towards the healing of traditional life in Kashmir.
