    Jonathan Hunter - Voice Consultant

I am the Head of Voice at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School and New Zealand's only certified Estill Voice Training™ practitioner. I was introduced to the Estill Voice Model™ in 2001 whilst training to be an actor at Unitec School of Performing & Screen Arts. In 2008 I travelled to Australia to attend my first official course and was immediately captivated. I have returned to Australia many times since to further my study and training under the mentorship of Helen Tiller (CCI-TP/SD), and am thrilled to be able to offer Estill Voice Training™ in New Zealand.

In 2011 I received the Claire Marsh Award in recognition of my services to the Speech Communication Association of New Zealand and, as a Deirdre Snedden Scholar, I undertook professional development in London and Rome which included attending the Fifth Estill World Voice Symposium.

In recent years I have taught actors at Unitec School of Performing & Screen Arts and South Seas Film & Television School, and singers at Auckland School of Rock. I have also taught voice classes at the Performing Arts School of New Zealand, including 'The Actor's Voice' and 'Accents for Actors', as well as public and private workshops on a variety of voice and performance-related topics.

I am a Registered Teacher of the Speech Communication Association New Zealand and a Professional Member of VASTA - the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (USA) and the New Zealand Performing Arts Directory.

I am based in Wellingon but happy to discuss opportunities around the country.
