“Return to the Forbidden Planet” will transport you into hyperspace with a tale of interplanetary love reverberating with the classic musical sounds from the 50s & 60s. Set in a B movie sci-fi world and loosely based on Shakespeare’s “Tempest”, this show bursts with red hot rock ‘n’ roll hits including “Great Balls of Fire”, “Good Vibrations”, “Teenager in Love”, “The Young Ones”, “Shake, Rattle & Roll” and “Who’s Sorry Now?”

- Selwyn Community Arts Theatre - SCAT
Selwyn Community Arts Theatre - SCAT is a community theatre group based at Selwyn College, part of the community education programme.
Our group meets regularly to present plays, musicals and new writings to the Auckland community. The group includes former students of the school, as well as members of the local community (with ages ranging from school-aged to University of the Third Aged).
Our director is the energetic June Renwick - former Head of Selwyn Performing Arts for many years. She established SCAT in 2005 when she "retired" from the school and has never been busier!
Productions include Guys & Dolls, Me & My Girl, Singin' in the Rain, The Boyfriend, Listen to the Wind and Return to the Forbidden Planet.
If you are interested in any aspect of acting or theatre production new members are always welcome.
