Pecha Kucha Whangarei #4
Whangarei is city #291 in the world and we are up to our 4th PKNight!
Pecha Kucha or Pecha Kucha Night is a presentation format in which (mostly creative) work can be easily and informally shown. It was originally devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham Architecture, Tokyo and has now spread to over 295 cites.
Whangarei has just been accepted as a PK city and our 1st PK Night is about to happen. Each presenter has a slideshow of 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds- the presentation being a total of 6min 40sec before the next presenter is up. Usually there are 12-14 presenters per night, often from the design, architecture, art, photography, and creative fields but really, anything goes.
The beauty of PechaKucha Night is that anyone can present. Some people share their passion by showing their prized collections of Nana Mouskouri records, others show their recent holiday snaps to Uzbekistan, their latest dog kennel design or their tattoo portfolio. The key to a great presentation is to present something you are excited about. Each PechaKucha Night is exciting and inspiring, and the great thing is, you don’t know what to expect next.
