Rembrandt: The Artist and His Art

Rembrandt was arguably the most important painter of the Early Modern Era. This course gives an overview of his art, his paintings, etchings and drawings and ties them in to the context of his own life. There is a focus on visual presentation and several representative works, such as The Night Watch (1642) and The Return of the Prodigal Son (1668c) will be analysed in some detail.
