Auckland Conversations - Design in the Landscape
Auckland Conversations, in association with Designers Institute New Zealand, presents Design in the Landscape.
Design in the Landscape is proposed as a New Zealand-wide business initiative, championed by Auckland Council, to raise the international profile and export sales of architects and designers’ businesses.
This initiative meets Auckland Unleashed economic priority areas by stimulating international recognition of New Zealand’s innovative and inspirational architects and designers, enabling Auckland to become a competitive and prosperous city, while also advancing the social, economic, cultural and vibrant quality of life for people within urban areas.
Presenters Lindy Johnson, Manager Creative Industries for Queensland State Government, and Shane Thompson, Chair of the HEAT Advisory Board, will outline the project model HEAT instigated by the Queensland State Government, elaborate on the numerous successes and learnings of the Queensland model and follow with a facilitated discussion to scope an application for Auckland.
This is a joint initiative of Auckland Council and the region’s design sector supported by the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA), the Auckland Architecture Association (AAA), the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects (NZILA) and Auckland Tourism, Events & Economic Development (ATEED).
