CreativeMornings/AKL with Andy Pickering (PILOT)
We’ve reached the last speaker for the year and what a way to end it... Andy Pickering will be joining us at Q Auckland – and because you’ve all shown such enthusiasm for CreativeMornings so far we’ve decided to make it a big one and double the tickets available!
SPEAKER DETAILS:
Preparing to release its sixth issue this December, PILOT Magazine has gone from strength to strength since its launch early last year. Issue #5 received a silver at the recent Best Awards and issue #4 was shortlisted in the D&AD Awards in London, alongside such distinguished publications as Wallpaper*, Monocle and Wired.
Each issue contains a diverse mix of art, design, fashion, architecture, romance, magic and mystery – a mix that editor Andy Pickering believes is essential in helping to push PILOT beyond a simple magazine genre and towards a finely crafted hybrid product that simultaneously acts as a gallery space, collectable archive and manifesto. Andy not only has an eye for beauty but is committed to working with a purpose – to supporting others in their creative practice and to harnessing human creative potential towards positive change for the future.
We look forward to hearing about the challenges Andy has faced as the driver behind what appears to be an increasingly ambitious project, and how he has managed to achieve such success in the cut-throat world of publishing.
