Project FEAR
Fear is one of the basic emotions that influence our actions. Many personal cultural and political decisions seem to be driven by fear (Fear of losing control, fear of poverty...).
To be aware of one’s personal fears seems to be essential for freedom of choice and courage. This Project explores a socio-cultural picture of fear and translates it into artwork.
For 30 days I’ve been conducting interviews about people’s “greatest Fear” and transferring the answers into images.
The end product is a “net of fear”, a collective image of individual fears, spun together.
The work consists of plastic-cut-outs from milk bottles (which had been sitting in my fridge, containing milk that at night time soothes my dark thoughts and fears.)
