Hear The Noise at the 2nd Pink Noise Art Show

Pink Noise is sounding off again in Auckland  - with its second Art Show Night and a celebration of the launch of the 5th Zine!

 
Enjoy some of the best coffee in town, check out the artwork, talk with the artists and treat yourself to some of the most interesting, some of it “undiscovered”, entertainment Auckland has to offer.

When: Saturday Feb 5, 7.30pm-11.30pm

Where: Roasted Addiqtion Café and Bar

The show and Zine are the creation of Katie Robinson’s Pink Noise Project.

Katie started up a small gallery in Whangaparaoa in 2007 as a reaction to a large local gallery supposedly open to one and all in the community. She heard people time after time say that the gallery told them they weren’t good enough, “But when I saw their work, it was great. Some really talented and passionate people just were not getting a chance! I wanted somewhere that we could all show our art, and I had just started painting around that time so it was a natural thing for me to want to do. I wanted to cause a bit of 'noise' in the community, but still keep it 'nice' so that’s a part of the Pink Noise name, kind of making a bit of noise, but in a nice way and involving anyone that wants to be involved,” Katie said.
The Noise carried, the community and the media got interested. And those who's work didn't quite fit in with what the art world told them art should be, finally had a place to showcase their talent – through Pink Noise.

Since that time, Katie has moved Pink Noise online. The whole project has really taken off and is evolving into something truly unique.

Photos will be made available in the next few days after the show through tagging on Facebook. Also there will be a feature in the next Zine.
