Visesio Siasau: Fetaulaki'anga

In the Annex, Visesio Siasau presents 'Fetaulaki'anga' : Intersection. Through work Visesio examines the social, cultural and political issues that surrounds indigenous peoples. From this examination Visesio  incorporates this into his sculptural narrative. Polynesia is colinized in numeorus way, but the biggest impact has been cultural colonisation, which has led to undervaluation of his culture and forgetting of inherited indigenous knowledge such as relationships with the land, water. flora and fauna. The work denotes figures which are derived from iconic traditional forms and connotes the ideology of idigenous knowledge, versus iconic religious symbolisim.
