Waiheke Summer School 9-14 January 2011
Hosted by the Waiheke Communiity Art Gallery in conjunction with the Dunedin School of Art at Otago polytechnic, this inaugural summer school offers three courses delivered by senior practitioners and tutors Clive Humphreys, (Painting & Drawing), Caroline Barnes (Creative Writing) and Andrew Last (Jewellery). The school aims to utilize the unique facilities and environment of Waiheke as venue and source material for these intensive workshops. The gallery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual arts and crafts in new Zealand, alongside the distinct cultural activities of Waiheke Island. We have a very active programme of exhibitions (36 in the year 2008) as well as educational and cultural activities. Admission to the gallery is free. We're open 7 days a week 10am - 4pm.
