HIP HOP SONGWRITING & PRODUCTION
with Matthew Salapu (aka Anonymouz)
Learn how to write, produce and record a Hip Hop or RnB track from scratch. Find out about making a beat, writing a rap and chorus, mixing and mastering a recording. Participants take away a CD of recordings created in the workshop.
VJ WORKSHOP
with Tom Bogdanowicz (a.k.a. TommeeT)
Tom will be running a workshop on VJing and creating visuals for music events for complete beginners and those just kinda interested to see whassup and how it all works?
Equipment will be available to give hands-on experience of mixing visuals live, and we’ll be going through a range of visuals software and applications to help launch you into the vivid world of VJing.
SPIT AND PERFORM
with Jai MacDonald
Learn how poetry is used in modern music specifically looking at modern hip hop music and RnB. The class introduces young minds to the nature of modern poetry slam writing that takes its roots from battle rapping and hip hop writing. The class breaks down the words of modern legends like Tupac Shakur’s ‘Dear Mama’ and the likes of the U.S HBO’s Brave New Voices, Def Poetry Jam and New Zealand’s own slam poets.
Jai won the National Poetry Idol competition in 2010, he’s a member of poetry slam troupe the Literatti and has performed alongside the South Auckland Poets Collective and at the 2011 Young Writer’s Festival.
GRAFFITI ART
with Berst
These workshops take a look into the world of graffiti art. You will begin by creating drawings and sketches of ideas, followed by techniques using aerosol, and then painting on a concrete wall. You have the option to explore type or imagery and gain experience in a creative graffiti/ mural art field.

It is located at the historic Corban Winery Estate in Henderson, Waitakere City. The Arts Centre utilizes the historic winery buildings and is home to galleries which feature a changing programme of Exhibitions, a Gallery Shop, and Artist's Studios.
CEAC also offers a wide range of arts and cultural events and programmes including: Adult's Art Classes, Children's Art Classes and a Schools Education Programme.
