SDGNZ and the Bridgeway present our first DIRECTOR'S VOICE event with filmmaker Peter Gilbert. DIRECTOR'S VOICE provides an experience that immerses you in a director's work and enables you to gain unique insights straight from the director's mouth.

Peter's award winning and Oscar shortlisted film At the Death House Door will be screened followed by a discussion with the director Peter Gilbert, chaired by SDGNZ member (and previous President) director Annie Goldson.

ABOUT THE FILM:
At the Death House Door premiered at South by Southwest in 2008 and was shortlisted for an Academy Award. It has won awards at several festivals including the Inspiration Award at Full Frame 2008. Peter was also awarded the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary for this film by the Directors Guild of America in 2009.

ABOUT PETER:
Peter Gilbert has had a distinguished career in producing, directing, and photographing documentaries, feature films, commercials, and music videos. He is one of the filmmakers who made Hoop Dreams, serving as a Producer and Director of Photography. The film won numerous awards including The Sundance Film Festival Audience Award, Producers Guild of America, Independent Spirit Award, and The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Award for Journalism.
