Virginia King: Tideline 2011

Virginia King, Whitespace

King's sculpture alludes to marine life forms, industrial apparatus, cell structures, and fossil forms.  She references the perforated forms of Radioloria, Foraminifera and Marine Protozoa that produce delicate and complex silica exoskeletons threatened by acidification of oceans. Tideline 2011 will include ephemeral artworks created at Lake Cootharaba, Noosa during 'Rising Seas - Floating Land' Symposium.

Virginia King was a Distinguished Invited Artist at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi, in 2010 and also exhibited in Perth earlier this year.
