Kaipara District Community Art Awards @ Matakohe

The Kaipara District Community Art Awards is on display at The Kauri Museum from 19th October until 17th November. The theme is” Kaipara From the Pacific to the Tasman”. There are nearly 100 entries and the standard is extremely high.

The exhibition is up in the foyer gallery at The Kauri Museum and is free of charge to view.

The couple in the photo are Hugh and Gwynneth Bennet from the UK who are here for the RWC but are enjoying seeing some sights out of the city. Mr Bennet said it was fantastic that they can travel around the country and say who they are supporting and feel welcomed.

The other photo is Dennise Brownlie Registrar at The Kauri Museum and Pat Mortensen. Pat is one of the artists and is volunteering her time to accompany the exhibition and talk to visitors.
