Michelanne Forster: In Unruly Tandem
Michelanne's works range from drama, historical fiction, television and children’s theatre to comedy and musical. Her works explore her Jewish family roots as well as some of the most intriguing tales from her adopted homeland. She is well known to audiences in Christchurch, where plays such as Don’t Mention Casablanca, Larnach Castle of Lies and Daughters of Heaven have premiered. Last year, she created a hit at the Auckland International Comedy Festival with actor and comedian Paul Barrett in Tic Tic, a solo play exploring Tourette’s syndrome.
Michelanne currently holds The University of Auckland/Michael King Writers’ Centre Fellowship, supported by Creative New Zealand. In this event, she joins in unruly tandem with Paul Barrett to talk about her writing and career, as well as reading selections from her plays.
This event is proudly presented by the Michael King Writers’ Centre. Join the Devonport Friends of the centre for afternoon tea after the event.

The Michael King Writers' Centre.
It is the first full writers' facility and literary centre in New Zealand.
The centre is based in the historic Signalman's House on the slopes of Mt Victoria in Devonport and was established to honour the memory of author and historian Michael King. After his death in 2004, a number of his fellow writers and friends formed a trust with the aim of establishing a centre to assist writers and to promote the literary arts in New Zealand.
