Cosmic Panda:
Why YouTube’s New Design Changes Everything
 - Lewis Bostock
This year saw the launch of YouTube’s stunning new redesign, named Cosmic Panda, which drastically improves the way users watch and interact with videos on the popular video-sharing website. It’s careful launch is also indicative of how YouTube walks a tightrope when trying to grow and expand — without alienating the users who have contributed to the site’s success. We also take a look at how graphic designers like Karen Kavett are building an audience in the thousands, and the impact of branded entertainment as YouTube matures.

This is what happens when you don’t have a career plan - Nigel Smith
Nigel will show work he has done over the years and take us on a journey through all sorts of weird and wonderful areas of design that he has drifted in and out of. He’ll tell us how he also ended up running various studios and, for the last 9 years, his own company — all without ever really aiming to do any of it!

Designing with culture in mind - Rehan Saiyed
Rehan will talk about identity design and development for various countries and cultures he has have worked with. Starting with his identity design process and how he comes up with concepts. He will showcase case studies of work he has done for overseas clients and NZ clients and the process he went through.
