Children's & YA Fiction Writing Course

Writing for children is all about writing in a simple, fresh, vivid style. You will use techniques to feed your imagination, increase your creative powers and help you find original ideas for stories. Participants will be able to choose which topics they would most like to cover in-depth during the course. This 8-week course will be tailored to your needs, with each session providing a particular focus and opportunities for students to share your work written during the course. A collegial, supportive environment in which you can learn from the responses of others will be a characteristic of the course. Tutored by Janice Marriott, the course will offer insights, knowledge and opportunities for those who are absolute beginners to the pleasures of writing fiction, and also to those who have already written some stories, poems or even novels for children but have not managed to achieve publication.
