Painting class with Laurence Berry, Fridays 9am-3pm, next years class starts in February 2012

Cost: $700 per semester

Semesters: Semester 1 = School terms 1 & 2

Semester 2 = School terms 3 & 4

Hours: 9AM – 3PM (contact hours = 5-6)

Focus: These classes are for adult participants who, above all, want to paint, have fun and enjoy the company of others of like mind. There is no expectation that work is done outside of class hours, so this course would suit those who find it difficult to make the time and space in their busy lives to paint at home. However, this class is the perfect introduction to professional painting methods and critique, so if you want to pursue your art further, you will be encouraged to take the ideas and work methods developed in this class, and progress into other classes.

Course work: Based on individually set plan and desired outcomes. Each semester will begin with an assessment class to allow you to develop, with Laurence’s input and critique, a set of goals and plans. This will be regularly revisited and reassessed throughout the semester to ensure you keep on track.

Lectures: Daily from 9.15 to 10.15

Directed by Laurence, these talks are based upon needs that arise from course work. There is a focus on technical and practical concerns of painting, however a theoretical element will be added as weeks progress.
