PAINTING FOR BEGINNERS

9.30 to 12.30 Wednesday mornings

6.30 to 7.30 Wed evenings

15 Feb – 3 Apr, 8 x 3 hr sessions, Course Cost $160

An intense course coverage for beginners or those who would like a refresher in the practical side of painting, covering exercises in mark making in pencil & paint, composition, colour wheel & colour mixing, volume, form & shape, the power of contrast, perspective, art as expression, and art appreciation, finishing with a painting of your own choice (bring a photographic image you would like to paint or work from tutor’s still life set up).

NATURE JOURNALING; Flora & Fauna @ the Heads

14 Feb – 1 Apr, 8 x 3 hr sessions, Course Cost $145

Keeping a nature journal is a way of connecting with the environment around you.

What you will learn:

- Some basic drawing and compositional techniques

- Experiment with various mediums ie pen, ink, colour, gouache, collage, print, etc

- how to use lettering as a means of expression

- how to illustrate and record your own observations.

- how to extract simple repeat patterns from your observations of nature’s designs.

- how to develop your own artistic style and ways of presentation.

- how to have fun in a relaxing environment!
