Circus Classes - Teen, Adult and Professional

We have a broad range of classes developing the skills of teenage and adult students.

Aerials – tissu (silks), Chinese pole, static trapeze, lyra (aerial ring), rope (corde lisse), Spanish web, aerial straps, slings, swinging trapeze and flying trapeze. Equilibristics and object manipulation - hula hoop, juggling, unicycle, rollabola, tight wire, walking globe, ladder, stilts, foot juggling. Handstand, adagio, acrobatic partnering, flexibility, balance and contortion.

Circus classes are great for developing self belief, strength, coordination, flexibility and team work. Classes are a great alternative to other fitness and sport training options and can satisfy recreational participants whilst providing the more serious student with a pathway towards the extreme skills required for a career in circus.

Teen and adult classes are run as term blocks.

Wellington Circus Trust is committed to the advancement of Circus Arts in New Zealand.

Tuition is available for serious students seeking preparation for a career in circus performing arts. New programmes are being developed to meet the needs of students who are preparing to enter full-time training.

Wellington Youth Circus is a performance development programme designed for teenagers with advanced skills. Through this programme young artists learn how to depend on each other and value each other as artists in a performance company environment. Entry into this programme is by audition.
