MT EDEN VILLAGE FRENCH FETE

The heart of Mt Eden village will adorn the tri-color of our French counterparts, as the annual Village Fete starts its new initiative in 2012. Each year, the Mt Eden Village Business Association selects a different country as its theme for that year – adding a new dynamic to the eclecticism the village holds already.

So say “sacre bleu” with amazement to a street market packed with délicieux food and drink, eclectic music, and plenty of entertainment from 11am-3pm and with the red, white and blue bringing a little bit of Paris to Mt Eden!

With around 50 businesses getting involved this year, the Village Fete is a favorite on the Mt Eden calendar, as shopkeepers set up stalls with specially priced sale goods for the event. Participating food-sellers will also line the street with a good deal of fresh and tempting food on offer and offer a taste that is the village’s take on French cuisine! From crusty baguettes and rustique preservatives to mouth watering pastries and deserts to delight those with dent sucree (a sweet tooth!)

Even the entertainment this year has a certain je ne sais quoi to it – street theatre, music and other Parisian entertainment will litter the streets, as Essex Park Reserve becomes a meadow of entertainment pour la adultes et les petits throughout the day!
