In this course you will explore how to achieve successful image making through a greater understanding of the relationships between the technical aspects of camera functions, lighting, composition and subject matter, along with an introduction to photo history and the various genre and approaches within it. Through lectures, visual presentations and group discussions you will gain an insight into the visual language of photography and its creative possibilities. If you already have a good understanding of how to use your camera and want to increase your photo-taking skills then this is the course for you! NOTE: This course does not include practical exercises within the classroom but students will be encouraged to work independently on set assignments throughout the duration of the course.
